Another pup without a home!

Ana on Health - Mon, March 17 2008

Hey guys,
Just got off the phone with a rescue buddy of mine, Rick. If you see the grooming by rick ad on the right, that is him. We work together a lot finding homes for critters. Our last two success stories were Emma the lab and Francis, the beatiful cocker who is a part of Indy Paws. Well, we have another baby who is in need.

A few days ago an owner came into the vets office with a pup who had been run over (you dont know how many times I have seen this and it just aggrivates me to no end) by a member of the family because she was able to run loose. At 12 weeks you can ot expect a pup to undersatnd that a car is backing out!

Anyway, the pup ended up having a broken left back femur and the owner had no money to help this baby. In comes our local angel Dr Bob Sievers. I can not say enough good things about this guy! If you want your sick dog taken care of go and see this man. He is a vet who truly cares about the animals he takes care of! Other vets would have sent them to emergency and the dog would have been euthed, seen that happen too!! But he had them sign the dog over to the office and he did the necessary surgery. Now this poor, scared, little girl is sitting in the vets office waiting to recover and go to a new home.

Her name is Angel, they believe that she is about 12 weeks old, she is black and white and thought to be a rat terrier or beagle mix. She is small and it isthought that she will to continue to remail that way. She is very sweet and somewhat shy. She is fully vetted for a dog her age and being very well taken care of right now.

Once she has healed she will need a new family. He adoption fee is $150 to help offset fees incurred during surgery.

No pics yet but in the next couple of days I will get them posted. She just had surgery today so she probably isnt in the mood to smile for the camera!

If you know of anyone looking please send them my way, Rick also can help you. He is on Indy Paws too.

Thanks for reading this post, good news though. Dr Bob's daughter met Angel and fell in love so he now owns a new pup! :)

Such good news for Angel. I'm sure she'll be truly loved and well cared for. Thanks to you and Rick for all your good work, too.

You can add Dr. Sievers to our list of local heroes! What a nice thing of him to do. This proves that even though some vets like to overcharge and seem to be only in it for the money, others are actually very passionate about their work and honestly do it to help animals. Angel, the poor baby, we will spread the word!
