paw licking

Trixie on My Blog - Fri, June 08 2007

I spend a lot cf my indoor time licking my legs & paws. I don't have fleas. My Mom can't figure out why. Does anyone else feel compelled to do this?

I do this sometimes, and our vet in Merrillville said I might have a small allergy to grass. I do it here sometimes, too, but not as often cuz we don't have a big yard like we did in Merrillville.

We do this in the fall because of our allergies. The vet said that us dogs do it when we aren't feeling well - it may noit be our legs that itch, but it comforts us to lick them. We have been doing great since mom switched us to a venison dog food.

This is the most common sign of allergy issues in dogs. You'll need to see your vet about it. I know 'cause I used to do it too.

Some of my buddies lick their paws a lot when they are bored. My mom turns on the tv to cartoons when they leave the house. My sister Lucy and I like to watch the bright colors and the noise keeps us company.
