I figured when Pedigree said they would donate $1 for every picture of a dog that is posted on their Million Dog Mosaic that they would end up donating roughly a million bucks to help animal shelters. Boy, am I naive! I just noticed that there is an asterisk next to the $1 and the asterisk on the bottom of the page says "up to $20,000." At first I was appalled, but then figured it's still $20,000 and it is making people think about donating to shelters. THEN, I re-checked the email that Pedigree sent to confirm that Carolina's photo was received. Well the email has an asterisk next to the $1 and next to the asterisk on the bottom of page says "up to $10,000." NOW, I'm like WTF? It's a cool mosaic and I think it's great that Carolina might be seen by the world (if you look real close and if the search function ever works), but it's making me wonder exactly how much money is being donated to shelters and which shelters will see the money.
Did anyone else notice the asterisks? Am I over-reacting?
