Thanks for sharing this link mama muttblood. What an awesome site, everyone needs to check it out. Great information!

Anyone interested on going to the May conference?

I had no idea about most of that! 110000? That's more than DOUBLE what I make? That's just horrendous!

Thanks for posting that site. I am horrified by what I read! If I wasn't mad enough already...

I am really working hard to spread the word about Move to Act, especially during this time of crisis for the animals in this community. Please send the info to everyone you know. No-Kill is not just a pipe dream. There are excellent statistics on the MTA site about the communities that have gone to the No-Kill philosophy and why it can work. I think the seminar is extremely reasonably priced at $45 for 2 full days, INCLUDING lunch. If you haven't checked out the site, please take a few moments and do so. Then begin spreading the good news.

This is shocking to me, to say the least.

I knew things were bad, but this is really out of control. As a previous board member for a NFP, I find this outrageous. I knew there was a reason I went to ACC instead of HSI. At least ACC tries to adopt out as many animals as they can. They had Charlie for 3 months before I claimed him as mine forever.

Oh my goodness! I had heard that HSI was not a great place. I had heard a few years ago that their money management was not great but I honestly had no idea about how bad things are there. That website made me angry and sad. Thanks for sharing, and I will be sure to pass along.

Thank you Ana for sharing this info. I can't believe the director makes $110,000yr while there are thousands of animals being euthenized. I am so angry. My husband and I wanted to go to Mutt Strutt in April but now....I don't think I want to give HSI a dime until they improve their practices. I want to help those poor animals but I don't want it to line the director's pocket. I know $70 for both Harry and I would pay to get into Mutt Strutt may not seem very much but it's alot for us since we basically live paycheck to paycheck. Anyone know of a no-kill shelter that is hosting an event like Mutt-Strutt that we can go to instead?

I thought when this new manager took over a year or so ago, she was going to improve the IHS. She had said at that time, it would be a no kill shelter. HMMMM! She looks pretty to-t-do. She maybe spending the money on make-up or her hair. NO! I did not say that. I just may get eliminated.
