Moving tips?

Pit*Bull*Princess on Shopping - Sat, February 23 2008

Woo hoo (not) we're moving! The most hectic thing human civilization has created besides child labor, and several other assorted things. But our main concern is having the dog, cats, and the guinea pig. We're not quite sure what to do with them, wether we should take her (Sugar) on a walk or what? That cats aren't a big deal, seeing as how they will probably hide under the bed and nobody will see them. We are living in a one-story right now so there's no basement and we can't stash the dog in there lol. We also can't put her in the garage because people will want to see that too. Also, a lot of people are allergic to guinea pigs so what to do with her?

So, take her on a walk? Take her to the park? If we're not home for her then board her for a couple of hours? I ask this because her barking is ridiculous, and the cage makes so much noise along with the barking, we don't want to scare people away from the house.

if you know when people are coming to look at the house, and you can leave and take her with you, then i'd do that. i'd also be sure to put the kitties someplace safe, because with strangers walking through the house....you don't want them to accidentally let them outside! maybe make a small litter box and put them in the dog crate? just so they can be safe while folks are doing the walk through. :)

I'd agree with Mikey... put it in your listing you need a xxx hr window to get home to restrain the pets. careful with the kitties & guinea pipg - that box smell to those who don't like cats can be an immediate turn around at the front door. But definately have them all restrained or all away (do you have a room you could designate a safe room? ie - don't open, pets restrained - even the garage - most know the typical size of those). Moving is bad enough with your pets --worse if they are lost.
