I is not only red meat. My first job was in a chicken slaughter. Not pretty either. I know all too well the cruelty of the industry. (My ex. is an engineer in a pork plant) Often, these animals come off the trucks hurt, half dead or some already dead. I am not against someone humaily killing an animal and eating it. I am against the Packing House Industry. They are in-humaine and wastful of the meat they so willfully slaughter.

I wonder what kind of person they are outside of work! Are they cruel to family and children? Made my heart sink.

Those people that treat the cows like that can't have any feelings. I'm sure they probably are like that at home.... sick, sick people. They'll have to answer for it eventually.

I accidentally caught part of this on T.V. Now, I am not a violent person, but oh my goodness - what I wanted to do to those people in the forklifts and with the prods.

I read this and got really upset just picturing it. I can't imagine seeing it on TV! It makes me feel helpless. I'm already vegetarian, so there's not much more I can do to make a difference. In my opinion, working in a slaughterhouse has to have a negative psychological effect on a human being. I guess maybe those are the people who are always saying "it's just an animal". Those people I always want to smack!
