Growth on paw pad

Johan on Health - Sun, February 03 2008

I have a little "thingy" on the bottom of one of my pads. Ma has seen it before, but then it's gone. Like it fell off or something. She says it kinda looks like a little black fennel seed. It's real tiny, it grows up towards my nail. It doesn't bother me, Ma just thinks it's weird looking. Does anyone know what this is?

Cats can get little 'horn' like growths on their paws... Did it look anything like this? http://www.messybeast.com/horned-paws.htm

Ya, I have a couple of those, too. They can be trimmed if they get too long. BE CAREFUL though. Never trim close to the skin.

That's exactly it, Charlie!! Mine is small and skinny. Ma has never trimmed one. She said she will keep an eye on this one and if doesn't fall of by itself in a few days, she'll trim it. She will be careful, Cookie! Thank you guys, a LOT!!

Okay, Ma just trimmmed it. Close, but not all the way down. Thank you guys so much! Ma was weirded out about it, but now that she knows I'm not the only one, she's cool!
