madison, there are many other better foods out there, beneful is really one of the bottom of the list. it is full of artificial colors and preservatives, and also contains corn. for about the same price, you can get much better foods, canidae is one i can think of. i'm sure someone here can post the dog food analysis chart, i cannot find mine at the moment. if i do, i will post it and you can check it out. :)

i looked up that brand of food and it's analysis, so you can read it. it explains each ingredient and tells you why it is not a good ingredient. very informative site, and also lists just about any other food brand, too!
Mikey beat me to what I was going to say! I know the commercials for Beneful make it sound like an amazing, nutritious food, but it's just not true. Mikey posted a great link, and I have one other for you (http://www.dogfoodproject.com/) taught me much of what I know about dog food, and says it way better than I ever could! I hope that helps.
that is what all of our dogs eat, we feed chicken and rice. i have switched to other high quality foods before (merrick, solid gold) but i don't know what it is, but mikey does best on Canidae chicken and rice. other foods (including ALS canidae) causes upset tummy for mike. the cats used to eat felidae, but they just get so picky, and will decide they don't like something after a while. right now they are eating eagle pack, and LOVE that!
Well, the problem is, when mom and dad go to the grocery store trying to accomplish buying food for the humans as well as the dog, usually there isn't a very wide selection. I have read bad things about Iams, so we don't buy them. I have visited that website before and that's how I learned Natural Choice wasn't very good. I have never heard of Canidae before, where do your mom and dad buy it?
what side of town are you on? we have it at my shop in cumberland, and they have it at pet supplies plus, probably specks, you might call petco and ask, i'm not sure about them. there is a place on pendleton pike by post, specialty pet foods, they sell it too. if i can think of any other places, i will let you know. some folks that may live closer to you may also know of where they might carry it close.
You can get it at Pet Supplies Plus. I've also seen it at Wipe Your Pawz (on the westside) and it can be found at various smaller pet supply places. Here's a link to the store locater (used my Zip): http://www.canidae.com/company/storelocator.html

here you go, madison, this has a list of all the stores around indy that sell it. it lists their phone numbers, so i would call ahead to double check. :)
thanks for reposting this site again
