Dog Treat Recipes

Marci on Training - Tue, January 29 2008

Good morning, Several of Charlie's pals responded to Charlie's blog requesting the recipe for our new treats. Here you go!

1 lb chicken breasts (or any other meat) cut into pieces
3 eggs
2/3 cup oil (we use canolla)
2 cups oat flour (or any other type of flour)
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp garlic

Set your oven to 450 and preheat. Put the eggs, oil, salt, garlic, and pieces of meat in a blender until everything is nice and smooth. Pour into a bowl, and mix in the flour - should be the consistency of loose brownie batter. Spread into a large (13 x 11 or bigger - you could always use 2 pans if needed), oiled, baking sheet with sides. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool completly and cut into really small pieces. This will make a LOT (at least 2 1/2 sandwitch bags) of treats, and those you won't use within a week need to be frozen. BTW, I can't keep my SO out of them!!!! This recipe was adapted from a liver/wheat based recipe. I won't cook liver in the house, and we can't have wheat or corn due to doggie allergies. Total coast was ~$1.50/batch.

Thanks for the recipe. I'll have to get mom to bake some for us.
