What's YOUR favorite animal movie?

Tabitha on My Blog - Wed, January 23 2008

I was trying to think about this the other day and it is just so hard to narrow it down to one. I love, love, LOVE animal movies. The Fox and the Hound is great, but I don't like the position it put me in. Has anyone seen 'My Dog Skip'? Great movie, but bring your tissues. Turner and Hooch, Lady and the Tramp, Beethoven and Beethoven's Second, the list goes on and on. But I think my ULTIMATE favorite animal movie is Milo and Otis because it has a dog and a cat (and multiple other animals) and the narration cracks me up! I still watch that movie from time to time and it gets me every time. 'A curious cat and a pug-nosed pup!' HA!

One of my favorites is Hildago. I'm a big fan of horse movies.

I'm not too big of a fan of animal movies. I know that sounds odd because I love animals. I have a hard time sitting still that long. I do love "101 Dalmations" the cartoon though. Roly's my favorite. "I'm hungry, Mother. Really I am." If Deuce could talk, I KNOW that's what he'd say!

Yep, the original 101 Dalmatians that came out in 1961 or something ages ago. No one dies except possibly Cruella, and I didn't shed any tears about that. I'm like Scouter's mom---I cry at Pedigree commercials, so animals dying in movies brings racking sobs into the theater. I will never watch Dances with Wolves ever again in my life. Ever. What ultimate betrayal.

Of the movies I've seen in the theater -- I liked "The Black Stallion", the first "Benji", "The Cat from Outer Space", and even though "Escape to Witch Mountain" wasn't an animal movie, it had animals with parts (horse/cat). Sad to say, I haven't seen many animal movies since the late '70s or early '80s.
