how long are YOUR whiskers???

Speedy and (RIP) Stuart on Breeds - Sun, January 20 2008

mom took this pic of me, my new avitar, this morning, when the sun was shining through the window. i must say, i look DASHING!!! mom laughed when she looked at my pic, though, because she said my whiskers are REALLY LONG, and that is because i am fat, so they are as long as i am wide!! well, IIII NEVER!!!! HOW RUDE!!!! i am just a very mature, buff fellow, i am in no way fat!! i noticed trixie's whiskers are long, too, but not as long as mine. mom says cats whiskers have to be long if the cat is, um, big, so they know whether they will fit into smaller spots. THE NERVE!!! anyhow, do any of you "mature" cats have really long whiskers, too? are you buff, like me, or skinny? i like to think of my self as "big boned", because, well, i am kinda "maine coonish" looking, so i'm sure it's just my genetics!

yours truly, speedy

I have the longest wiskers in the house. I'm a buff 3 year old boy and my wiskers are 'da bomb. Your new picture is really cool, Speedy. I wish Mom would take one where my bad eye wouldn't shine that odd color... Oh well, it's my claim to fame. That, along with my wiskers...

I'm the long whiskered one of my family. They're wider than my body, and I'm a little chubby, so that's saying something!

You certainly do have some delightfully long whiskers. Mine aren't exceptionally long, but mom did notice that I have one brown "eyebrow whisker", and all of my others are white. I think the fact that she knows this is a sign that she stares at my face too much.

I love the new avatar, Speedy. I don't think you're fat, I think your fluffy. :)

Wow. Those are some long whiskers. If you are self conscious you may consider shaving. That is what Dad does when he has long whiskers. However, I'm quite impressed with the length!

Those are really long whiskers there, Speedy. My mama heard of a cat that the human sister cut it's whiskers off....the cat was forever getting stuck in places until they grew back and they didn't grow back for quite awhile. Better keep 'em...why take the chance.
