i watched the show, dogtown, again tonight. it was much better than the one i had discussed before. in this show they did not try to rehab any human aggressive dogs, which was great! they had this cute bulldog mix, who had a neurological problem, and he walked like he was drunk, AND uncontrollably dropped turds when he walked. he was darned cute! after much work, he was adopted to a family who was willing to accept his needs. they had another dog who had serious allergies in her old home in the north east. once she went to the southwest, and changed some meds, her allergies were gone. (due to the climate change) so she would go up for adoption! there was a very fearful girl, whom had been owned by a "dog hoarder", and she had never really been socialized with humans, therefore, she was very stressed around any humans. one of the trainers kept her, fostered her, and worked a great deal with her, and she made a 180! (made me think of dayzee! ;o) another dog, who had lived most of his 12 years at dog town, was given a temperament test, and it was decided that he no longer posed the threats of dog aggression, as he did when he was younger, so he was deemed "adoptable", and would be put on their site for adoption. now all of these were very good stories to hear!!! each of these dogs very much deserved the chances, and i hope they will find wonderful homes!!! if you get a chance to watch this in a rerun this weekend, or next week, it's on national geographic channel, and it's called dogtown. :)
