Trouble

Colton on My Blog - Wed, January 09 2008

Maize and I got in to sooooo much trouble this morning, I don't think I have ever seen mom so mad. Anyway here's the senario:
1)sump pump discarge pipe in the fenced part of our back yard,
2)plastic tubing froze last week so dad had to cut it off,
3)now just have the pipe sticking 6 inches out of the back of the house,
4)LOTS and LOTS of rain the last 2 days,
5) Maize and I begging to go out at 3:30am,
6)Mom sleepy and not watching us when she lets us out

The end result was Maize and I deciding to wrestle in the discharging water coming from the house. By the time mom came back to let us in we were both soaked AND covered completely in mud. Boy, mom was so mad she couldn't even find her voice to yell at us. She sent us straight to our cages and locked us in muttering something about having to give us filthy brats a bath tonight. Later when she got up to get ready for work she wouldn't even love on us like she usually does in the morning. When dad got up he asked why Maize was brown instead of golden and THAT just caused mom to start muttering again. Dad stayed clear of her the rest of the morning.....

Can any of you tell me why mom is so mad? Maize and I had alot of fun and can't wait to do it again.

That sounds like a lot of fun!! I had to get a bath the other day because I pooped in my crate. It was pretty gross. I just couldn't help it!! Mom was not mad, but I could tell she sure wasn't happy about it. Tell your mom at least it's just mud and not poop!!

Wow. A midnight potty break AND a romp in the mud. That's a great night! I don't know why moms get so upset about mud, it's our favorite thing to play in. They don't HAVE to give us baths, we're happy just the way we are, muddy! I hope you two get to do it again tonight!!

Yep...this mud gets old real fast. Everytime I came in yesterday mom got the towel and cleaned me off. One time I was so muddy she used a wet wash cloth. She didn't have time to give me a bath. Never did get that bath. Is it going to rain tomorrow? I sure hope not.

I don't understand why your mom would get so upset with you guys. After all, your backyard is a gold mine! People travel all over the world to get mud baths in luxurious spas. I'm sure underneath your mud-caked fur your skin is smooth and rejuvenated. Maybe she's mad that you guys used up some of the mud she was saving for herself? Or maybe you didn't ask if you could use her mud?

Since I'm so white, we usually get a bucket of warm water at the back door; each leg gets dipped and swished before we go inside, when we're all muddy....

Boy, when I splash chasing my ball, we get picked up at the door, taken right to the sink and sprayed off. No pets, no chats, nothing - just straight to the sprayer. Sometimes all white bodies aren't a good thing.

It's times like these that mom is happy we have coats that everything just sort of shakes off of. We have muddy paws occasionally, but that's about it. Even when we roll in mud it's pretty easy to brush out, then we're good to go.
