LOST IN GREENWOOD

Madison♥ on Lost Pets - Wed, January 09 2008

I am reposting this since the old one got erased. :/

Yesterday morning Dad's friend's dogs got loose. They live in a neighborhood off of Main st between 135 and 31.

One of them is a young, quite tall, female mutt. She looks like she could be a german shepherd mix. She is a fawn color with dark, tall ears, and a dark muzzle. She is wearing a plain brown leather collar. Her name is Gracie.

The other is a middle-aged female pitbull on the smallish side. She is patchy tan and white with a pink nose. She is wearing a spiked leather collar. Her name is Baby.

Gracie is in HEAT RIGHT NOW. (Which is probably why she tried to get out of the yard anyways... Puzzling to me, because they have an 8ft privacy fence that only unlatches from the outside) And if you were wondering from my previous posts, yes, this is the same friend mom was JUST telling the benefits of getting their dogs fixed.

Mom was irate when Dad told her yesterday. If he does find his dogs, now he'll also more than likely be gaining a litter of puppies as well. Ugh.

Gracie is very friendly and nice, but Baby is kind of weird around strangers, wary and skittish.

The worst part about this is many many years ago, the reason Baby's previous owner disowned her was because she bit a little girl. This was back when she was a puppy, and although Dad's friend may not have been wise enough to get them both fixed, he did do a great job with shaping up her behavior. Still worrisome.

If you have any information about either of these dogs, please post here, or call:

Let's try and get these dogs home!

GREAT NEWS! The dogs were found and picked up at a shelter in Franklin. They must have made it a long way! Franklin is at least a twenty minute drive from Greenwood. They were found covered in mud, and Gracie had a few scratches and a tire mark on her because she got hit by a car, but they are both okay.

We don't know yet whether Gracie is expecting or not. Only time will tell!

Mama's sister doesn't have any pets but she gets on indypaws sometimes to look at everything, she asked "who is that Madison on there?" She asks, "Sooo, how's Madison?" She want's to clone you!!:)

I hope Gracie is not expecting. Reminds me of this fall when a couple of rescue girls here where I work, saw this dog in the field off Worthville Rd. and 31 in Greenwood. They tried for two months to catch her and could not. They finally got her by slipping her a tranqulizer. Yes! A checkup revealed that she was 3 weeks away from delivery. One of the girls took her home and she had four pups which all have been adopted.
