New foster

I guess I misunderstood Pebbles post last week. I thought she wanted MORE doxies in the house☺ No seriously, they just seem to find me, I can't help it. When I get back from my trip to Atlanta, we will be adding Sweet Tart to the pack. Little Miss Sweet Tart has come from Missouri and was to be a breeder. She is only 18 months old and has already had one litter that she's not recovered from. Her current owner was told that she was very stressed after having the pups and she lost her hair from that. She's grown some of it back but it's very thin. She is a fear biter and is scared of everything. Her owner contacted the Missouri "breeder"(and I use that term loosely considering where she's from and how she's treated this lady) to return Sweet Tart since she was so miserable. The breeder instead shipped her a pregnant female and has refused to take Sweet Tart back. My feeling is that she was kept in a crate and not very well socialized and the breeder knew she had issues. She is very small-only 8 pounds and appears underweight. Her owner contacted the rescue that Cocoa Puff came from to see if they would take Sweet Tart(all this food's making me hungry). That rescue then contacted me and asked if I could take her since she's here in Indy. They have their hands full down there in Evansville pulling from the kill shelter. So I've been emailing her owner and it sounds like she's going to try to get her spayed while I'm gone and then we'll pick her up when I get back. You gotta love a challenge. I am very confident that she's young enough to overcome her bad start in life. I'm going to call Warren tomorrow to enroll her in the next class at Doggone Connection. Does anybody have any tips for helping hair to re-grow? Hubby has already said she can't stay forever so if you know of someone looking for a Doxie, we'll have one available through Wags but probably not until Spring. We're going to work with her and make her the bravest best dog she can be before she gets adopted. It reminds me of Dayzee only smaller and nippier. Dayzee was always scared but never a fear biter. Hubby better watch out. Our last fear biter foster sunk his teeth into Jerry's thumb! I've attached a few pics on her on my profile. Ok, no photos yet. The site is still acting weird. She is a short haired Chocolate and tan. Very cute!
