Goose attack!!

Blitzen on My Blog - Sat, June 02 2007

Oh my gosh. I just got attacked by a goose!!! Mom and dad have been out working in the yard while we were contained to doggy jail in the house. Dad came back in to take a shower and mom thought we all needed to go potty cuz we were whining(especially me). She told dad there were a bunch of Canada geese next door but dad said they would go away when we went out. So we all got our leashes on and went out and peed in the front yard. then we went around the side yard and spotted them. All of us were barking and ran to the end of our retractable leashes(which mom totally hates). Suddenly I was free and flying. Mom thought it was Chase and was yelling his name but it was me. I wasn't going to stop for anything! All the silly black and whites went running towards the pond with me in hot pursuit. Mom was freaking out but thought they would go to the water and I would stop. Then one decided to defend her babies. She stood there and hissed at us and flapped her wings but it didn't stop me one bit. I ran straight for her to attack her but I must have slipped on a banana peel or something because next thing I know, I was lying on the ground. Then I thought I would just go back to mom to see what they were doing. Mom told it differently to dad. She said that the goose attcked me and rolled me and I ran off like a hurt puppy. Luckily, it didn't hurt me any but boy, talk about my heart racing. Mom's trying to cool me off right now because Dr. Cindy said it's not good for me to get too hot with my big heart. It was worth it though. I didn't see Chase or that stupid foster dog Dayzee trying to save our mom from the geese. Be careful out there in the mean backyards. You never know what's lurking in the shadows.

Blitzen, I feel your pain! I was pushed into the lake by one of those big bully geese. Evidently, I got too near her nest, and she felt the need to push me into the water. HA! Little did she know I like to swim and I LOVE our apartment lake. Jokes on her!

I know how ya feel. I've been "attacked" by one too. I like to point at them and they hate it! ^.^

Oh Blitzen you are so brave! That's what I do...protect mama from the squirrels...I bet geese are meaner than squirrels! Take it easy now.

Mom and Dad despise the geese...there are SO many here. Mom says it's the only animal she's ever heard of that she does not like. At all. Not only are they mean and they hiss (one even hissed at Mom's car as she was driving by), but they leave TONS of goose droppings EVERWHERE...and before I knew what it was, I ATE them! I then got tapeworms from them (that's where Mom thinks I got them anyhow) and so now they watch me like a hawk when I'm out for potty breaks or walks. I wish the geese would just leave us alone!

Wow! What bravery out of the Itsy Bitsy. I didn't know you had it in you. That was pretty daring for someone that is usually scared of his own shadow! I guess when you have had enough, you've had enough. I don't like anything in my yard either. Maybe those stupid geese will learn now!
