Prayers for a Buddy, Please

Gunner on Health - Sat, December 29 2007

A lady my mom works with adopted a German Wirehaired Pointer from animal control on Christmas Eve. It turns out he's really sick with pneumonia and the doc's not giving him a good chance at survival. His x-rays were the worst the vet has ever seen!

The Wirehair (Wizard), is only about a year old and, thankfully, is showing some improvement (his temperature dropped to 103 from 104.3). He's on antibiotics and anti-fungal medicine, along with a nebulizer, so I hope all this treatment works. He just needs to get his appetite back and I think he may pull through.

Could you keep Wizard in your prayers? I don't want to lose another dog (they lost their 13 year old mutt to cancer at the beginning of December). Thanks you guys!

The first dog my husband and I ever had together was a GWP named Chrissy. I will certainly keep Wizard in my prayers.

We will definately say our puppy prayers for Wizard!! Mama got me from IACC also and I got pneumonia and parvo, too. (Plus a few other things!) They said I probably wouldn't make it either, which just made Ma more determined to make me pull through, which I did, and Wizard will too!!!!!!

Thanks you guys. I won't get a chance to talk to Caryn until later this week, but I'll be sure to post an update when I find out. Penelope, I'm glad to hear you made it! That's encouraging.

Wizard will probably be fine he's not to old and not too young and he made it this far, and he's probably going to be alot happier out of the shelter. We had a few puppies get parvo and they all lived, thanks to a good vet

I have an update! Wizard is doing much better today. He's eating, and up walking around more. From what I understand, the vet expects him to make a full recovery! I'm so excited that Wizard is pulling through, and thank you guys for the well wishes. I'm going to tell Caryn about how awesome you all are the next time I talk to her.

That's great to hear. Tell here to put Wizard online....... I really think dogs (and people) can pull through many difficult situations as long as someone loves them.
