I'm leaving home!

Chaka on My Blog - Thu, December 27 2007

Yesterday my usually sensible dad brought home a kitten. I heard the usual blather about how she didn't have any people, it was cold outside, don't you remember what that was like, Chaka?, and blah blah blah. We 3 cats who already have homes here sniffed her through the carrier she was rightly confined to, told her to be on her merry way, and went on about our business. She took up residence in the study, which means I don't get to go in there and give therapy to all the clients which is my job. I hissed at her through the door for good measure a time or two to let her know that she was not welcome here, and thought no more about it until I heard mom and dad talking later. We have these periodic lapses in sanity here at Chez Muttblood, because the parents are decent humans who feel sorry for other creatures and want to give them a better life. A better life in someone else's house. Except for Denny Crane, who now thinks he runs the place, and Kinky, who somehow wormed her little gray self into mom's heart. And she is sort of deformed, so she gets a pass. We have 3, count 'em, 3 cats who live here now. I was the first, and I am on the bottom of the totem pole. Little regard is ever given to Chaka's feelings about household policies, and I have about HAD IT. Last night mom said something about hoping that one of dad's clients would need a pretty little tiger striped kitty and he said...ARE YOU READY FOR THIS..."Well, I'm certainly not going to look very hard for someone to take her. She's a real sweetheart." EXCUSE ME???? What am I, chopped liver? You have a real sweetheart living right here under your very nose. No need for any others. THEN he told mom that the kitten told him her name was Luna. As in LUNATIC, which is what I have a house full of. She told him her name already? Jeez Louise. He intends to have 4 cats in what should be a 1 cat household. So that's it. I'm moving on. Have my little kitty bags packed, not that I have much. The dogs get everything around here. In a few days they will notice that I am gone. They will say...where's Chaka? I haven't seen him in a couple of days. Yep, they won't even notice that I'm gone until it's too late. Then some other kind family can find me and take me in. Surely there are others of that ilk who might like a seasoned, handsome black cat with beautiful gold eyes and a little white patch on his chest. After I have settled in I will tell them that my name is Chaka. I won't mention the rest, as it might give me PCSD (post cat stress disorder.)It's been good knowing you all.

Chaka, even though I do not like cats, can you give me a ride too? I would drive myself but I'm still too sick. I feel your pain. I was the first too and now there are 3 dogs. Why???? Do they not realize that once they have perfection, they should quit looking? On top of that, my mom drags home all kinds of hairy beasts, both small and large. Just last week I was banned from the bedroom and the big bed because there was a strange dog in the bathroom. I just don't get it. I too am looking for a good one pet only family. I think Kirby might like to go with us. We were talking about getting a bachelor pad together awhile back. Peace out IP peeps. We are outta here!

Haha, Chaka, sounds like you have a new addition to the fam! Don't be so quick to leave home though. I've been out there for my walks and it's getting cold! Perhaps you could learn to love the little one. Best wishes :)

My mom keeps doing that to me too. UGH!! There's *5* of us here already!! Why does she feel the need to bring more home?? Fortunately they don't usually stay long, but geez. Get rid of one, then it's replaced by another. Currently we have a spare orange tiger kitten. Hyper little turd he is... I'll be glad when he's gone. Anyone wanna adopt an orange tiger? Mom thinks he's cuddly, I think he's annoying!

Poor Chaka. Best of luck to ya! Words of wisdom ... the grass is NOT always greener on the other side! Give the kitty a chance ....

Well, I'm leaving home, too. I asked Chase if he wanted to get an apartment together, but I haven't HEARD FROM HIM YET! I'm sorry this is happening to you. Our humans think they're being "good people", well, you know what? They're screwing us up, that's what. Let me know when you're ready to go.

Hey Kirby. I'm still ready to move out with you. Check out my comments above. I'm still sick so I can't really drive or anything but I can pack my little bag. Let's start the new year without these goofy families of ours! Come on Chaka.

Hey Chaka...nice to meet you, but sorry to hear you are leaving so suddenly...listen...i know i'm a dog and we differ in opinions and actions quite a bit....but maybe this will help you....see, something similar happened to me....my mom brought home one of those "little" dogs...you know the kind that dont grow beyond 10 or 20 lbs...well this one thought he was going to come take over my mommy's lap because he was so small....but you know what i do....i keep him in trouble...i tear up the trash, then i blame him...i show him paper, pictures, tickets, all the kind of stuff that i know he likes to tear up, and i take him where it is so he can chew it and tear it to itty bitty pieces....i know that will get him in trouble....then, when mommy comes home, i run to her while he hides....he usually gets in trouble and has to spend time in his room by himself, while i get to sit under mommy and get treats from the bakery....see if luring them into trouble will work for you before you go....it worked for me, and it's been almost a year since he got here....BUT...you have to make sure to wipe up your paw prints...never leave evidence that you may have been involved....let me know how that works for you!!
