GLMR Puppy update.

Vega on Breeds - Tue, December 25 2007

Well I just wanted to stop by and say Merry Christmas! I also wanted to say that GLMR rescued a pregnant brindle female and her breeding partner almost two months ago. They were both starved but extremely friendly. We named the female Mia and her boyfriend Henry. He has since gone to a foster home and is doing wonderfully. Mia has been taking care of her puppies but we've also been bottle feeding every four hours to help her out. They are now three weeks old with their eyes open. They are adorable! They will be available for adoption through GLMR.org and hopefully adopted locally throughout Indiana. Maybe some IP families are looking to complete their family with an English Mastiff. I only hope! Mommy says an English Mastiff is a breed that you have to own at least once. If you can handle drool, shedding, leaners, etc. But Momma says I'm not any of those things. Except for leaning and shedding and sometimes drooling. Okay well I guess I am all of those things sometimes. Anywho Mommy adopted me through GLMR last Christmas and things have been great ever since! I was a litter of 13 but three of my sibs died. My momma was in bad shape and was too sickly to nurse us. But all 11 of us were adopted out. My grandma fostered three of us and that's how Mommy and Daddy met me. Mommy says she might make Mia a profile later so everyone can meet her and she can tell you all about her babies and herself. Mommy says that if she could adopt any of them she'd take Mia. She says she is the sweetest girl and loves everyone even with her puppies. Well I just wanted to tell everyone about Mia. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas! We should all meet for a playdate again soon. Maybe at my house?!

Vega, if I did not have Hunter, I would take Mia in a heart beat. Hunter is very happy as an only dog. I will next time own multiple dogs. I think the Mastiff is a boootiful dog. A gentle giant. I have a great old pic. of a Mastiff standing between a little girl's arms while she is holding out a book. The name of the pic. is "The Reading Lesson." It is a replica of an old painting. I love it.

What a wonderful thing you and GLMR have done for those dogs and their pups. They will have a great life thanks to you!
