ARPO had a successful adoption day today at the Castleton PetSmart. They had 4 dogs and cats adopted. They also have a beautiful 3 year old female Basset Hound who was an owner surrender (stupid people.) The great news is that her foster mom fell in love and is going to keep her! I love happy endings. In about 8 weeks they will have 8 puppies up for adoption who were taken from a feral mom dog, who is yet to be captured. They were only 4 days old, which is pretty young to be taken from mom, but there were concerns about predators and the weather, plus some construction that was going on in the area. I'm not sure what their lineage is. They are being bottle fed and cared for 24/7 in 4 different foster homes, as each took 2. We are keeping our paws crossed that they all make it, and that mom can be live trapped.
