Cable Guy!

Lady Penelope on Health - Thu, December 20 2007

Well, Ma just had cable installed and while the cable guy was here they were talking about animals and he said he used to work at a vet too. He said that the vet he used to work at neutered dogs by injecting a chemical into their "area" and it shriveled up the testicles. Ma had never heard of that and said it sounds weird. Have any of you heard of such a thing? Glad I'm a girl!!

I looked it up and it's only done on puppies 3-10 months old. It says it's 99.6% effective when done properly. It does actually cause their testicles to shrink up and makes them sterile. However, it does not prevent them from making testosterone so that's a down side to it. They will still perform all their manly duties like marking, etc. and they will still be very prone to testosterone related diseases. So maybe not such a good thing.
