I was discussing the whole UB's protest with a very intelligent animal loving friend of mine. I told her about the puppy mill/UB's connection and she said..."but they said they don't get their puppies from puppy mills." She said this with complete sincerity as though no one would ever lie about such a thing. It never ceases to amaze me.

I know what you mean...last night when I was telling one of my dog lover friends about our protest, she said "But that won't stop the puppy mills from operating and if people don't buy the dogs from the pet stores they (the stores) will just neglect the dogs". My take on that is this: If by our peaceful protest we can even convince a few people not to buy dogs and cats from pet shops, and offer to give them alternate places from which to adopt dogs and cats, then it is all worth it.
