JENNA IS AT HSI !!!!GRRRRR!!!

Hound Girl on Behavior - Sun, December 16 2007

ok, i already sent this info to one person who responded about jenna the black cocker. after all the dang networking and spreading the word about this poor girl, and her 90 year old owner who dies this past week, the son and daughter in law did what i told them NOT to do. they took her to HSI on thursday or friday. i am just beside myself, because i was really trying hard to find her a forever home which i'm sure her dear owner would have wanted. i should have just kept her the last time she was in, because i know they did not want to keep her then. :::sigh::: HSI told them that they will hold her for 10 days, i guess? she would then show up on the HSI's site. i am just letting those of you who were interested know, if you (or your rescue) can go pull her, or if you were interested, now is the time. i just cannot believe this...it makes me really mad. it makes me not even want to try to help people in these situations, because after i try my hardest, they go and dump the dog, and all my time and effort is wasted. CRAP!!!!! (i'd cuss for real, but don't want to get this pulled,LOL)anyhow, i wanted to get this out ASAP, so that hopefully she is not PTS for any reason. (i don't know why they would, but you never know) if you or someone you know gets her out, PLEASE let me know that she is ok. thanks.

I haven't talked with the woman I gave the info to, but should see her tomorrow at work, and will stress the urgency of the situation. Unfortunately she is not a diehard "rescuer" like some of us are.

I wrote my will to try and cover whatever pets I have when I die, but I did tell all my friends and family that if something goes wrong and they just dump the pets at the shelter then I WILL come back and haunt them.

oh man -- that's horrible to me. I will spread the news again to those I know. All fingers crossed on this one. A beloved cocker is now lost without her owner and now without a family period. Sad...

This is horrible. I wish I could take her, but I'm in the middle of a move and I know my rowdy girls would probably terrorize the poor baby. I'm not even sure I can foster with these two hooligans! I so hope someone adopts her. My grandpa had a toy fox terrier when he passed away. My mom has her now. No way would we take her to a shelter because she meant so much to my grandpa. I wish these people had felt that way. Poor Jenna.

I took in my grandpa's mini schnauzer when he passed this summer. The nice thing about it is that my "grandpa" still pays for all of her medical, food, etc that she needs, which is awesome because she is 11, is blind, and has Cushing's disease. My mom and her brother agreed that if I was keeping the dog, then I should not have to pay for her and they could use his "house funds" to maintain Maggi. I wish more elderly people has such caring children like my mom.

(mom here) When my grandma became to ill to take care of her Bichon, my aunt and I actually kinda "fought" over who got to take her. It was finally decided that my aunt was in a better postion to take care of the dog since I was still in college and already had 2 dogs in an apartment. My husband and I have made arrangements for our furkids in case something were to ever happen to the 2 of us.....
