Update

Gunner on Health - Mon, December 10 2007

Poor Gunner. I swear this is turning into my worst nightmare. He went to the vet today for a blood panel and another urinalysis. His blood work was completely normal. Somehow, though, he has crystals again. They said something about a false negative last week.

I think we're going to get a second opinion from the holistic vet at the Paw Patch (49th and College). I know she recommends Solid Gold's Berry Balance, which I'm going to buy this weekend. I'm tired of that nasty Science Diet food that wasn't doing anything. I'll make a phone call up there as well, and see if we should get an appointment.

I'm looking into that study as well. I'm not sure if Gunner qualifies, but it can't hurt to ask. Someone will call that number later.

Lets hope that I can finally rid my boy of those struvite crystals.

We'll be thinking of you guys. Both our dogs have crystals and are on different diets. It stinks!! Freckles pretty much has a persistent UTI that we can't get rid of even after she's had oxalate stones removed. Maggie's uric acid stone issue is under control with diet.

I don't know if this is pertinent or not, as I am usually impertinent, but my vet said that my mom should give me Vitamin C daily to help prevent UTI's. She has been doing that for several months and I haven't had one for a long time. It's cheap and harmless, even if it doesn't work. Might be worth a try.
