I like things to climb on -- like cat trees! Here's a site where trees are a bit more reasonably priced: http://www.yugisoft.com/catfurniture.asp I also like fuzzy mice and going for walks on my harness. Your parents could also make you an outside enclosure out of fencing materials that are found here: http://www.purrfectfence.com/ Pricey though. =/
oh yes, I highly recommend the cat tree. I just got one a few weeks ago and I LOVE it. I like to sit on the top ledge and look out the window. I got mine at www.jefferspet.com.
Yes, a cat tree will allow you to keep up with all the fun activities going on in your absence. Another good idea is cat grass that you can grow inside, and helps keep you from missing that sort of thing. Another thing that outside kitties love to do is to stalk and pounce on things. Sometimes we try to get out so we can continue that behavior. If you play with Basil for about 5 minutes at a time several times a day with something he can chase after and conquer like a wind up mouse, or something you throw for him or tease him with like a kitty wand he will have that need met almost as well as if he were outside. Stick to your guns and make him stay inside, regardless of how much he begs or bullies. You are helping extend his life and the quality of it.
